On Thursday, Coinbase, the biggest digital currency exchange in the United States, confirmed the appointment of Kate Rouch as its new Chief Marketing Officer. She will manage Coinbase’s attempts to expand its worldwide brand presence and product and performing marketing duties, as per a previous article.

This move represents the addition of a former Facebook executive to the exchange’s team, where she worked as Global Head of Brand and Product Marketing for Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, the Facebook app, Public Affairs, and the firm itself. Rouch and her marketing departments at the social media behemoth won many accolades worldwide during her time there.

Kate’s experience at a company with the scale and impact of Facebook will be invaluable as we continue building our brand, growing our teams and working to bring millions more people into the cryptoeconomy,” said Emilie Choi, President, and COO of the US-listed cryptocurrency exchange. She graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Literature with honors as per her LinkedIn page.

Coinbase Poaches Facebook Vet Kate Rouch As Its CMO

The company continues to grow on a global scale

The new Coinbase CMO spent over four years as an advisor at The Bridgespan Group before joining Facebook.

“I am so inspired by what I’ve learned about crypto and the vast ecosystem it is helping to usher forth. At its core, Coinbase is about creating more economic freedom for people. It is a mission I feel passionately about. I can’t wait to get started helping to introduce millions more people to the benefits of crypto,” Rouch noted.

Coinbase’s CEO, Brian Armstrong, said in the previous week that the company would buy $500 million in digital currencies and put aside 10% of its quarterly net revenue for future investments in digital currencies. The cryptocurrency exchange went public previously this year and is rapidly growing its worldwide reach.
